The Naukati area is famous for commercial and sport fishing, with charter services available, as well as self-guided bear hunting opportunities. Fishing, hunting and tourism are the mainstays of the community's economy. One of Naukati's recreational attractions is the Sarkar Lake Canoe Loop, described as a scenic fishing trip with no stop signs.
Services available to locals and travelers include a variety of lodging, fuel, diesel & propane, groceries and liquor, hardware, laundromat, boat launch & mooring, boat repair, post office, telephone, ATM, auto and tire repair.
In May through September, Naukati hosts the soon-to-be-famous Mud Bogs, "races" in which a variety of trucks try to out slide each other to the finish line. The Skunk Cabbage Festival takes place on July 4th.
