Houston is well known for superb fishing on the Little Susitna River, which supports a large king salmon run and one of the largest silver salmon runs in the region. Very reasonable fishing charter services are available.

Visitors will find inn lodging, cabins, RV and tent camping on the river, restaurants and a grocery store. A Founder’s Day event is held in August, featuring entertainment, fireworks and a great barbeque.
