Location: Hwy 97, 23 miles north of Bend.

Located in central Oregon's high desert about three miles east of Terrebonne, Smith Rock is considered the birthplace and world capital of modern American sport climbing. The sheer cliffs of tuff and basalt are ideal for rock climbing of all difficulty levels on over 500 cutting-edge routes, although winters are often very cold and summer temps can reach into the 100s. In addition to world-famous climbing, Smith Rock State Park also offers miles of hiking and biking trails, the meandering, 400-foot deep Crooked River Gorge and great views of the volcanic peaks of the Cascade Range. Tent camping is available in the Park.
