The 40 Mile Roadhouse building is the original structure built in early the 1940s when the Alaska Highway construction reached the area around Tetlin Junction. This area where the highway passes is also known as the “Gateway to the 40 Mile Mining District.”
Tetlin Junction is the junction of the Alaska Highway1 and the Taylor Highway 5. This beautiful area was named after the Tetlin Native Village.
